Re: Constantly being assed for password for email account (@me.com)

Usually it's caused by security certificate changes, so easiest way is to resync the account... delete it and create it again. The old certificates might not be deleting thus always the password asking

That is exactly what this user has been advised to do, but if you fully read this thread, you'll see that the user doesn't known their .me account password.

Penny, go to a PC and attempt a login to your .me account. When you get to the password entry, enter what you think the password is.

If the password doesn't work, it will tell you so and offer a "Forgot password" link. Perform whatever action that asks. Often when resetting a password it will send the password link to you via a different email account... I am not sure what the .me account will ask. Try it and see.

Regardless, this is an Apple .me account issue, not a BlackBerry issue (to reset a forgotten password) and you may need to access help on resetting the password from Apple.

Re: Constantly being assed for password for email account (@me.com)

Hi JSanders

Thank you, I haveremembered the password as you stated earlier and since then have been entering the password and it accepts then usually a few hours later, it says account info isnt working, to re-enter password, I do it, then off we go again.  Is it worth deleting and re-entering the account??  Will my emails reappear when I re-establish the account?  I appreciate your assistance...  thanks

Yes, and yes.

  1. Delete it from Settings > Accounts.
  2. Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
  3. Back to Settings > Accounts and add it back.
