HELP!!! How do I sync my POP emails, contacts & calendar to my BB10

How do I sync the emails, calendar, and contacts from my desktop PoP Outloook?  Note, this is a POP account not an Exchange account.

Background

I purchased the BB10 along with the wireless package from Koodo but kept my personal inernet/email account with Rogers.

I finally got my BB10 to connect to my persoanl Roger email account (POP/SMTP not via exchange).

I set the phone to retrieve for the last 30 days but it only retrieved emails for today.

I installed the BlackBerry Link but it only has options to sync files, music, pictures, etc.

I have exhausted all the instructions I can find so any help would be appreciated.

Re: HELP!!! How do I sync my POP emails, contacts & calendar to my BB10

Hello,

This is actually a very major issue under discussion in many arenas. Suffice it to say that tethered sync of Organizer (e.g., Outlook) data is gone...there are plenty of other threads that have resulted in how bad a decision that is, but that's not IMHO worth pursuing as it won't change anything.

The BB10 device can sync to compatible internet-based services for email, calendar, and contacts. But that's the trick...finding a compatible service and managing your data within Outlook so as to make it as seamless as possible.

From my testing, Hotmail/Outlook.com was the winner. They have a very good connector between Outlook and their servers, and the BB10 device can synchronize both contacts and calendar to them. So, within Outlook, it's a matter of configuring a Hotmail/Outlook.com account via the connector, then using those calendar/contact containers for those items (rather than the default Outlook containers for those), and then allowing the BB10 device to synchronize to those servers. You do not have to shift to Hotmail/Outlook.com for email...you can continue to use whatever email service you want...but only certain email services are compatible with the BB10 ActiveSync technology for contact/calendar synchronization.

Good luck!

Good point..."gone for now"...but "gone for good" cannot be known.
