Help urgently required!

I bought my Blackberry z10 in February sim-free in Scotland, and I have a Virgin mobile sim card.

For some reason, I cannot update both my phone software and, most importantly, my phone OS from both the Software Updates section of my phone and from Blackberry Link. I am utterly nonplussed.

Because of this, I am currently running my phone on the OS 10.0.10.690

My software is stuck on 10.0.10.90

Can anyone please help me? Is this a problem because my phone was bought sim-free, because Virgin Mobile is the carrier, both, or neither of these reasons?

Re: Help urgently required!

Thanks for your assistance. It turned out that all I had to do was to go into BlackBerry Link and connect to my phone with its sim card out and it's fully updated the os and software. Don't understand why I have to take my sim card out, but I won't complain! Cheers again for your help!

Re: Help urgently required!

You're welcome.

I suspect the reason is the device is a model STL100-2 and you are using it outside the intended geographic area.

Where are you located?

On your device at Settings > About, what is the model number?

Re: Help urgently required!

It is indeed an STL 100-2 model. I'm in Scotland, and I bought it from phones4u here. Unsure why it would be outside the geographical area, unless they have bought the phone in from abroad?

Re: Help urgently required!

nope, that's good then in your area.

perhaps Virgin has not released the upgrade, that's probably the reason.

Anyways, you got it resolved, good luck, enjoy.
