NO BACKUP FOR BB Z10

No chance to have a backup for my BB Z10: connected via USB, BBlink starts procedure and after less than a minute states 'Backup is not complete'.

I bought the device last Saturday and I tried everything but without success.

I understood I'm not alone with this problem, any news about?

Thanks

Re: NO BACKUP FOR BB Z10

Hello mamario62,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

Thank you for your question.

Attempt performing a selective backup without selecting the Application Data option.

Let us know if this completes successfully for you.

If you are using a PC, go to Control Panel, then to System, and then to Device Manager. Expand Universal Serial Buss Controller.  The idea here is to turn off the power management for the USB Root Hub.

At USB Root Hub (you may have 2 or more of these), on each one double click them. In the Power Management tab, remove the check mark for Allow The Computer to Turn off This Device to Save Power. All the Root Hubs must be done.

It is very common if an on going long data stream is going through the port at a constant rate the computer management may react as if the port sould be turned off as if there was no activity. This is a known Windows issue and it has not been resolved by MS. If the power management of this port is turned off and the port still stops responding then the issue is more advanced than this common problem.

The necessity for the Root Hub power management is really for laptop computers running on battery. With desktop computers it would make no difference.

If all this does not work for you, you can also try another USB port.  I have also seen issues resolved by simply using a powered USB hub.

Many thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

Unfortunately nothing changed.

I followed all the instructions given by both of you and the result is 'Backup did not complete' (I can add did not start al all)

Await some other ideas

Ciao, hope to hear from you!

P.S.Just for you knowledge, I've kept installed on my PC BB Desktop Manager for the other devices, do you think this program could interfere in the matter?
