Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

Most likely, the work arounds being proposed here are using servers in unknown locations.

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

Guys if I was still running a pop email account I would also be sending my Z10 back.........

If you have web based email, changing over to exchange is very easy, talk to your web host and ask for pricing, it really is a far better way to go if you are running a business no matter how small.

It takes a while to get used to not holding your emails on your machine, trust the server, it works beautifully.

It has completely eradicated the missed appointments I used to suffer from, laptop, desktop and phone completely updated with each other every few seconds.

Happy Z10 owner

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

Hi Ceathan

Could you please explain to a total nerd how I switch from a POP based e-mail account ("@btinternet.com") to a web-based e-mail account without having to change my e-mail address?

Thanks

Unhappy Z10 user!

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

Ceathan - here's what my service provider said when I asked about using an exchange server for my domain and email: Exchange is a pricey option. Just the license for that software is upwards of $4k.

Maybe he doesn't understand the question?

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

I don't have this issue but I went tooling around on the net and found this article which is very well written and clear.

Hopefully this could help.

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

I use an outfit called Active24/Mamut they host my website and email account, I use 4 alias' under one postmaster@......com, so no need for multiple expenditure.

My costs for web and mail exchange server are in the region of £200 p/a?

I'm sure costs vary but not $4000 worth.

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

The 4k cost they're referring to is to set up your own Exchange server.

Re: New Blackberry 10 Sync to Outlook

Have a read of this, you need a MAPI service as opposed to pop3.

I am no tech head but a couple of phone calls to my provider had this sorted for me in an afternoon.

I cant remember how things ran before we changed.
