BlackBerry® Z10

Something odd has just happened on my Z10. 
Normally on the startup screen I see the clock display and any appointments for the day. 

Now all I see is the clock and "Hello"

I have plenty of appointments in my calendar - Any ideas how I can resolve this

I have tried restarting and a number of battery pulls but this doesn't seem to fix the problem.

What OS release is your Z10 on? Look at Setitngs > About

same here, but I'm on a more recent OS.

have sent a Tweek to blackberryhelp also, so will see what come back. Kind of reluctant to do a system wipe at this stage. Hopefully we will be getting the new 10.10 update soon, so can see if that changes things.

You won't get a 10.10 update anytime soon.

Perhaps 10.1 release in a few weeks.

Fix Found for the Hello message

Set the screen to lock with password, I also added a couple of lines of text for the lock message
Result was that the "Hello" message went and my appointments returned. 
I then removed the lock and message and the appointments remained but no "Hello"

Don't know if simply adding the text on its own or just adding the lock would have fixed it. If it happens again I will try to isolate this and post the findings.

Ha, you and I discovered the same thing.

Last night I disabled my security password (I had set the security password while my device was in development mode to side load a couple of applications) and noticed that with  the password disabled the coming events returned to my screen.

So, that security password is certainly the reason the events didn't appear.

putting the password back on retains the settings so it looks like the process is somehow "kicking" the bug 

I now have password back on and no "Hello" message. 

but with all my upcoming appointments. 

So a nice secure BlackBerry
