OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

I updated to OS 10.2 2 weeks ago and have had nothing but problems including very slow responsiveness of the touchscreen, battery life of 3 hours max, ring or vibrate doesn't go off with phone calls.  And apps that I delete are on th ephone within 24 hours of deleting.

I have done a secure wipe and restored twice.  Same problem.

When I updated the OS the first time it failed with a 1.2 Gb file, a second attempt and a 20Mb file downlaoded, installed.

Any ideas?  Is it possible to wipe the OS entirely and start from scratch?

thx

Carl

It is not possible to Wipe the OS but you can perform a Clean Reload, see the link below.

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

Thx, I have done this twice and same problems each time.  I am beginning to suspect a hardware fault somewhere... although I had no problems with OS 10.2

Strange timing for a hardware fault but stranger things have happened, take it for repair, I hope it is still under warranty. Good luck.

First, there is no 10.2.2, so what exact OS release are you on, look at your Settings > About > OS Version.

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

So you delete those apps, and in 24 hours they reappear installed on the device?

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

That happenned twice... I did another security wipe last night around 19:00, restored using a February 5 backup deleted some apps and so far they haven't shown up.

I am comfortable with these things, sideloaded Android apps from Mac using Terminal etc., this has me baffled.

When you update through Rogers, they allways "add" their own things to the update such as Rogers One Number, My Account, Rogers Anyplace, etc. It also happens when I update the OS on my Samsung.

Apps, such as "Battery Booster" are not part of the OS upgrade (as far as I know) so the only way that may have "returned" is when you did a backup and then you restored the OS with everything you backed it up with.

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

Thx Leslie

The Rogers piece makes sense, I deleted apps AFTER a restore.

Now any clue why my battery last 3 hours after the software update?
