In some cases, after updateing your OS, will require some minor adjustments. Some of the default settings the new OS has after install, may not be the right setting for you.

I have a problem with connecting to wifi after the new OS update. I turn on the wifi and no one network is showing. Even my saved networks disappeared. I can't connect to any wifi even my device is not showing any at All. The wifi symbol even not appearing at the top of the screen. Pleas help. Thanks

Hello,

This post is not about WiFi connection. So please start a new topic but before you do that, do a search on this Forum regarding WiFi connection problems.

Thanks

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

Yesterday I managed almost 5 hours out of the battery, with little use.

Another problem from previously, the phone app doesn't work, ie I get a blank screen with a greyed out telephone handset, dialpad doesn't come up, neither does a history of calls, nor contacts, the voice mail con at the top of the screen won't come up either.

This happenned previously and I could make calls using voice commands from the handsfree softre (SYNC) in my car.

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

You have some very strange things going on, most of which are unexplainable.

I would recommend you make a backup of your device and reload the OS, there are a couple methods for doing this and if you need help, please say so. For you, I'd recommend performing the reload with an autoloader file, since this process does wipe the device and load the OS fresh (you will need to restore your setttings, etc., from the backup although I am afraid that will also restore some of your problems).

Re: OS 10.2 Update - Massive Problems

Thanks JSanders, yes many unexplainable things going on, all of which I think can be traced to the first update to 10.2 that didn't complete.

I have a backup and will do yet another.

I saw your autoloader posts for 10.2.1803, is there one for 10.2.1.1925 (I have an STL100-3)

Is autoloader analgous to re-formatting a HDD and re-instaling OS on a Mac/PC?

Many thx again.

Roughly stated, yes. You will set up your device as if new, with reinstalling your email accounts, etc, and all those will resync to the device.

The main question is how are you contacts stored on your Z10... do they sync via email account or are stored locally on the Z10, do you know? If local, those and the calendar can be backed up with a third party application such as InTouch Contacts and then restored to your Z10 from that app.
