Problem with Software Release 10.2.0.424 (OS 10.2.0.1791)

Operator : Vodacom (South Africa)
Phone: Z10
Model: STL 100-1

Recently I updated with Software Release 10.2.0.424 (OS version 10.2.0.1791) and since then I am facing many issues with my phone

Issue 1 : My camera is not working. When I click on the camera icon, it says "The camera can't be started"
Issue 2 : I am not able to play any videos. When I try to play them, it says "File format not supported". Though the same videos were playing with the older OS.
Issue 3 : My phone has started eating a lot of battery, its asking to be charged after every 2-3 hours.
Issue 4 : The phone is now slow and hangs a lot while on call or while sending texts.

Please I need help to fix these issues!!
BB/RIM guys do something?? This is really irritating

I have exactly the same problems and there seems to be no solution yet
The problem is with that OS and the model 100-1

If BlackBerry dont fix it quick it wont be able to sell one more phone, at least in latin america..

Re: Problem with Software Release 10.2.0.424 (OS 10.2.0.1791)

This is annoying!! Carrying an expensive phone with no cam and one that can't play videos :/

I see it as a very common issue not only in Latin America but also in South Africa.

BB/RIM guys please give us a fix or an alternative to resolve these issues??

First, please do this:
Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.'

Now check your camera, videos, battery life, etc.

Hi there,

Thanks, I have tried all - hard reset, security swipe and factory reset (holding volume keys) but with no success.

The only thing I am able to find out is that my screenshots have also stopped working after the update :smileysad:. It seems we are discovering new problems :smileysad:

Please I am looking forward to a fix. Help me!!!!!!

Re: Problem with Software Release 10.2.0.424 (OS 10.2.0.1791)

After banging my head for several days, I left my phone to drain off the battery completely till it went blank. I left it in the same position without pressing any button or swiping the screen for around 30 minutes.

Now I have connected my phone to my laptop to charge the battery, my phone restarted. The GOOD NEWS is that both CAM and VIDEOS have started working :smileyhappy:

I have left my phone to charge to 100% and will monitor the drainage of the battery. Once my battery is 100%, I am also going to make a few calls and send few texts to see if the phone still hangs or not.

Will keep you all updated.

Cheers!!!!

Re: Problem with Software Release 10.2.0.424 (OS 10.2.0.1791)

After putting up a lot of time testing everything, I am happy that my phone is working properly.

All the issues - camera, video, battery life, slow/hangs, screenshots seems to be resolved :smileyvery-happy:

But I am not taking this battery draining solution as a fix, until one of you guys try it out to see that it really works even for you.

I also want to observe my phone for 1 or 2 more days before accepting this as a fix.

Please try this and also let us know if it really helps :smileyhappy:

Cheers!!!!!
