Problems with blackberry ID

Hubby and I both have Z10's.  Mine is fine, only problem is with email needing me to veryify password at least once a week.  Hubbys is a different story. He registered the blackberry ID with his hotmail account. Then hotmail screwed up and he could not access it anymore. He now has a gmail account. The blackberry now does not seem to recognize his password. Can he change his id somehow to reflect the new email?  Also how to get a new password if the steps to changing a password mean sending something to his old email account to which he has no access!! It is driving him nuts and as a result driving me nuts!
