Just as a warning, if you want to implement S/MIME through Office 365 and the hosted services from Blackberry, you WILL NOT. RIM is fooling you in thinking that the hosted service will provide S/MIME Capabilities.

Not entireley true. in the JAVA based devices, if you had the SMIME package and loaded it via DTM, javaloder...etc. It would then enable the SMIME on the device to where you could then use the SMIME options on the device.
SMIME package is still a free download. For JAVA based only devices.
I used to have JAVA based devices with the SMIME package, free SMIME certificate and BIS account and it worked like a charm.
I would hope that they would enable this for users to have secure email, even without the server side.
