Speaker not working

Good day,

 

There is no sound coming from the speaker in my phone. It worked for a while and then stopped. I am unable to hear any notifications and am missing a lot of calls and messages. All of my sound settings have been put to the maximum volume, but this does not help. I have restarted my phone and removed the battery, none of which have worked. What other options are available?

I would say try resetting your device to factory settings (backup your data before doing that) and see if this solves the problem.

 

This process seems much more efficient than a "simple" battery pull :smileywink:

FIRST, do this please.

 

Download the app from AppWorld > BlackBerry Virtual Expert.

IN that app is a test for the speaker. Run that test to see if it is a hardware issue.

 

Wiping and reloading the OS is NOT always the first thing to recommend. Such might be required eventually, but there's other 'triage' which can be performed first.

Thanks everyone for the help.

 

I didn't get any of the recommended solutions to work. I noticed that a lot of people are having similar issues like I do and am guessing it is a manufacturer's defect. It's a really nice phone but this is the only set back I'm seeing for this phone thus far.
