Verify your BlackBerry ID - hung

Hi.  I'm hoping you can help me.  I've supplied my BB ID password on my BB 10 Z and it's hung with the spinning circle in the middle of the screen with the phrase, 'Signing in to BlackBerry ID' underneath.  I've cancelled out and logged into my account on my laptop and changed the password.  I then power cycled the device and tried to login again using the newly updated password, but with the same result.

Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

Hey watrg8,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

 

Thanks for the question.

 

I would suggest performing a backup of your data using BlackBerry Link and then perform a security wipe.  Go to Settings>Security>Security Wipe

 

This will erase all data off the BlackBerry Z10 and then try to access BlackBerry World prior to restoring any data.

Thank you for the suggestion, but as I stated in my original post, I can't get beyond the password prompt screen. I'm also curious why this is happening.

Any other thoughts?

It seems that the only thing I hadn't done was physically remove the battery from the device. After leaving it out for a full minute and then replacing it, the device rebooted directly onto the main screen without being prompted to supply the BB ID password. This is the equivalent of a Windows PC reboot. I'm curious to know *why* this happened.
