Work Email setup on Z10

since 01 year i was using bb9790. i was able to setup my company email also without more settings. like below

i had to provide only email id and password. and Web URL coulum  automatically taking following link  "https:\\webmail.mycompanyname/Exchange"

but in Z10 there is seperate email setup for work email. which is asking my company server address. i have typed my company server address but still not compleating the setup.

 

is there any way to compleate the setup for my company email ??

Sherif,

 

The cause of the problem is that your SMTP (outbound) mail server is being blocked by your Mobile provider. You can use another SMTP server or find out exactly what port your smtp server is on. I had to change the port from 25 to port 26 on the server.. Another solution is to use a diffrent smtp server, example your home internet providers smtp server,

Having the same issue here, which is basically the same issue with my Playbook -- I have never been able to add my university account. The only workaround was bridging my 9700 to my Playbook. Adding my work email to the 9700 was, by the way, SIMPLE AND EASY. Not so with the QNX / BB10 configurations. This despite a couple of hours of assistance from a BB employee family member. Telus online assistance also not useful.

 

Now that my 9700 has been traded in for a Z10, I have no way to add my university account on my BB devices -- what gives? Carrier unchanged. Work unchanged. Old OS, easy. New OS, impossible?

 

Re the reference to the workarounds in this in other posts.from Arsen, they don't appear to work for me, but thank you. University IT do not support BB so we're on our own. Shouldn't be so difficult. Any other insights would be appreciated.

i have choosen Work Account

description -- blank

domain - blank

usernae - sherif

email address - sherif@companyname@ae.

passwor - xxxxx

server address - pop.companyname.ae

port - 995

ssl off

 

smtp username  sherif

password - xxxxx

server address - smtp.compnayname.ae

smtip port 465

Sherfali, the new Blackberry 10 phones do not support Outlook Web Access? Only Exchange ActiveSync, POP and IMAP. 

 

Have you contacted your company helpdesk to see if they support any of these protocols and to get the correct settings?

Copperoak, what type of email system does your university use? Do they allow android and iphone to connect?

Hello Jamead,

 

MacEwan U here in Edmonton uses IMAP and Groupwise by Novel. Officially they do not offer any support for BYOD but have issued an iPhone how-to which has not worked for some of my colleagues (haven't polled them all). I am the only BB user in my department and until I upgraded to 10 had no problems setting up my email on my BB. I tried to follow the iPhone how-to but it's not exactly like BB, quite a.bit simpler, but it didn't work. Thanks.
