Z10 Charger

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help me out here, not really familer when it comes to power sources.  I have heard on other sites that an older charger, say for a torch 8910 should not be used with the z10, due to a lower amperage.  I see that the older charger are 750mA while the new one is 850.  I have a car charger that is 500, is this ok to use?  There are chargers for sale from Blackberry that are 1A, wouldn't this be too high.  I just upgraded to the z10, basically I want to know if I need to buy all new chargers for home, car and work?

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Z10 Charger

While those chargers at 750 or 500 may charge your z10, it will be slow. The device will also notify if the charge is not sufficient to charge the device.

The 1a chargers are great, and fast. They are relatively cheap on Amazon.

Re: Z10 Charger

You're welcome. The battery bundle is worth the cost also.

Re: Z10 Charger

And 95% is just a "reading" of the actual power charge on the battery. Close enough.

Re: Z10 Charger

WIth great difficulty, you can find the official Blackberry 1.8A charger on Provantage. They have the best prices, though shipping isn't free. When I got the phone, I just orderd the 1.8A car charger, a charger bundle, and an extra spare battery. [Yes, I know that means two spare batteries since you get one in the bundle.] At that point, shipping is a small part of the deal. I also got the official blackberry case that lets kick stands the phone.

The Provantage website is pretty poor regarding searching for Blackberry accessories. Your best bet is to get the official blackberry product IDs, then search for them.

So far the best pricing I've seen is on Amazon for about $10USD, with free shipping.
