Z10 Forgets password

Hi all, I recently did a security wipe to cure a problem I have with the phone (it sometimesrefuses to make a call until I re-boot it). I backed up everything before and restored everything but it keeps telling me that my logon details are incorrect on 1 of my 2 email accounts. One is OK but the other requires me to re-enter the password each time before it will work.

 

I first tried the battery-pull but now I have resorted doing the wipe and restore a couple of times now but no help. Hope you can assist me on this one.

colpart, for that errant email account, go to your Settings > Accounts.

  • Tap on that email account and at the bottom of the screen, tap the delete icon to remove that account from the device.
  • Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.
  • Now, go back to your Accounts and setup that email account fresh.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I tried the suggestion but to no avail. It still comes back with Account isn't responding. What is frustrating is that it works OK until I turn off the phone and then when it reboots I have the message.

Good question - I guess it is something I have always done and it means it doesn't stay on charge all night.

 

Having said that, I am still curious as to why it should lose just 1 password and only after the security wipe.

I've had the same issue and see others with it as well, and normally deleting the account from your device and readding it resolves it.

 

Maybe, do it again.

When you have "tried about 3 or 4 times deleting" are you able to successfully delete the account?

I suggest you start from scratch will all your accounts. Follow what JSanders suggested but delete ALL your acounts, reboot then set up your accounts again.
