Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Stop the red LED quickly by tapping the top edge Standby button. Sometimes I don't have time to even peek at the Hub, and a quick tap of the standby button let's me get back to work for a few more minutes.

Could you please elaborate on this, unable to do it :smileysad:

sid, this worked ok in the release version of the OS (10.0.9.2372) but doesn't seem to do so now, with the upgrade. I will watch this and see if anything changes.

Hi All,

maybe another thing to add to the first post.

I receive a lot of emails per day and some of them are in a group that I don't need to read. To mark them "read", I thought I have to check them one by one.

But thanks to user drewread who explained me:

Just press and hold the date-title in the hub view and then the side bar shows you an option to mark all previous emails read.

I will add, thanks. Since that is the same exact method used in several years worth of past BBOS devices and OS, I forget that a new user might not know that tip. On my four years of BlackBerry 9530/9550/9850, that's the same process.  A good one to remember.

yes you are right (I also had a torch before), but since the date is very thin I did not got it that it is also a touchfield with a function behind (until drewread told me)

Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

For those looking for the old "Voice Notes" they are now located within the Remember App, and can be added to a new entry, or added to any existing entry.

They can also be made by using the voice command:

written by Jsanders in another post:

The voice notes and memos you create with the Voice Control app are saved as entries in the BlackBerry Remember app.

  • To open the Voice Control app, press and hold the side edge MUTE key on the Z10.
  • After the beep, say "Make a note" and then speak whatever you want your note to contain, such as "Remember to buy bread at the store".

Calendar -- Quickly go to "today" -- double tap the bottom "Day", "Week", or "Month" selectors, and the calendar will go to the current date, and will display in that particular desired view.
