Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

If kenzie and Battery77 are talking about the fact that the auto-correct using "space" is rendered ineffective when the next character is in fact a "space", then i agree, that needs to fixed. If it was already covered in the tips, then thanks.

Also, how do you clear all text? Previously, you could hold the backspace for a second or 2 and it would clear all characters to the left. Now, on the Z10, it's not obvious how to do that. An auto-text option above the backspace appears when i'm holding it. The symbol looks like a backspace with an additional arrow to the left, which seems like it would be a "clear all", but i haven't been able to get it to work.

Type/Keyboard Item 4:  You can also swipe left from the margin just above the text box to cause the keyboard to disappear.

Someone was saying they were a one thumb typer, and really wanted an option to the two finger swipe to drop the keyboard.  But I don't remember what forum it was in and I can't find it.  Hopefully Mr. "I'm one thumb" (as opposed to "I'm all thumbs") will see this tip here.  It's a good one that I use a lot now, even though I'm use both thumbs.

to hide the keyboard with one finger, just tap on the space bar and hold for 1 second.

Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Apologies if this has been posted; I'm a busy guy with little time to search.

When typing a message, you can swipe from right to left across the keyboard to delete an entire word at once. But what if you have two, three or four words you need to delete? Just swipe using two, three or four fingers instead.

Genius, I tell ya! Smiley Happy

Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Of course, the word-delete trick only works on the Z10, not the Q10/Q5.

Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

That's why this is called "Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts".

Maybe someone should start a "Q10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts". Smiley Happy

Re: Z10 Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts

Does holding your finger on a word, until the right side menu appears, select the top option, that looks like a reversed text flag (?) to select all, then delete.
