Z10 automaticly restarts

My Z10 shuts down and restarts itself automaticly every 1 or 2 days.
Is this normal and if yes, is there a way to avoid this?
It's annoying.

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

No, it's not normal, but some devices are doing that (mine included).

Call your Vodafone tech support and get the issue escalated to BlackBerry technical support so that it is logged as an issue and they may want your logs from the device to investigate.

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

I have discovered why my z10 restarts a half dozen times a day!

There seems to be a hardware problem.  It seemed to restart frequently when I'd take it out of my pocket and put it on my desk.  So used my finger to firmly tap the bottom of the phone, and it restarted!  Specifically the bottom right side seems most sensitive to this.  It is super easy to reproduce the problem.  I don't know if this is just my phone, or maybe many other blackberry's have this same issue.  Hope that helps some of you with this problem.

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

amwhite, try this, place small folded sheet of paper or a business card on top of the battery and place the battery cover back on.

Let it boot up and try your tapping trick again... What happens?

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

I have carefully examined the battery contacts, because I assumed it was an issue like that.  But they seemed good.  Additionally the battery contacts are at the top of the phone.  The restart happens when I tap the bottom.  Nonetheless, I folded a post it 2X (4 sheets thick), and placed it on the battery, put the cover on, and tapped.  It still restarted.  Next I tried a small piece of paper wedged to push the battery against the contacts more firmly.  Still restarted.

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

might not be same issue but...

i had to use a pencil eraser on my phone and battery contacts to clean them

I keep a spare battery in my pocket and the contacts must have some skin oil or dirt on them

after cleaning them it has been fine since

Re: Z10 automaticly restarts

I received a new phone under warrenty, but had the same problems.  Puzzled, I swapped batteries with a coworker and our problem swapped as well.  Yes he wanted his battery back.  The problem was a defective battery, not dirty contacts.  My phone and battery were new with nice clean contacts.

You got a new battery, I hope!
