Re: email

I had not long ago posted the same thing and now have found the solution... I noticed I kept making small errors  (like in the user name field I had put the entire email address) but I finally figured it out.. THe steps are;

after add account, at the bottom is "advanced" - press that - the go under POP

Description: cogeco

username: the field before @cogeco.ca

email address. ___@cogeco.ca

Password: your email password for cogeco

Server Address: pop3.cogeco.ca

Port: 110

Use SSL : turn off

SMTP user name ; leave blank - or clear it out .

PW: leave blank

SMTP Server: smtp.cogeco.ca

SMTP Port: 25

SMTP encryption: turn it off

Press "DONE" at the top and you should be good to go hope it works

Re: email

Cogeco likely only allows traffic to smtp.cogeco.ca while connected through their network. Otherwise it would function as an open relay since theres no authentication.

Re: email

I've seen people have success on rogers using smtp.rogerswirelessdata.com for the outgoing provider with the rest of the settings the same.

Should be noted that this will only work over Rogers network and not wifi.
