Re: random restarts / reboots

If you go into your "e" screen, you'll see the OS number is actually 10.1.0.2025.  T-Mo also posts this somewhere in their support material.

Re: random restarts / reboots

Right, got that part.  If that's the case then the latest T-Mobile version is not new enought to address the reboot issue, it would seem. Are OS versions named the same across all carriers?

Adding to my confusion is that the "Software Release" on my Z is 10.0.10.85, but the "OS" is 10.1.10.672.  However, I've seen people referring to "OS 10.0.10.85" in various places.

What is an "e" screen? Before anyone rolls their eyes, as I said before I'm not really into my smartphones, and this is my first BB.

It's the engineering screen.  As I said, though T-Mo verions is "called" 2006, it's really higher (2025) and it does seem to have addressed the reboots.  Did for me.

Re: random restarts / reboots

In the case of T-Mo settings > about > software "release" will only give you the 2006. Either look at escreen or do: Settings > About > category OS > OS Version. That shows you the 2025 build.

Re: random restarts / reboots

If you have even basic skills, you should have been able to update to a leaked o/s without using windows. You don't have virtualbox or another VM? Regardless, I posted how to do it using just Firefox or Chrome. Surely that isn't too difficult for you? Those who cannot or will not upgrade to a so-called leak o/s, will just have to wait for the carriers to release the updates.

As for your comment about it taking 7 minutes to reboot. All I can say is "lol". Don't expect people to take you seriously if you post sarcastic and inaccurate posts. My phone boots in about 1 minute.

I've been on 2354 for a week now. Have not had a single random reboot. Plus, a full battery charge is lasting FAR longer, which is a pleasant surprise. Perhaps the battery drain and random reboot were related as JSaunders hinted at.

Bottom line: you have the means to fix your problem.

Re: random restarts / reboots

Good news here...I was having problems with my phone randomly rebooting, and particulary, when I charged my Z10 at night and had the clock showing in sleep mode, it would randomly reboot.
Latest update, 10.1.0.2014 has cured it! Hope this helps others too.
Thank you Blackberry!

Re: random restarts / reboots

My wife's phone isn't rebooting anymore after the software update but now it has a worse problem where it will just freeze until it drains the battery.

Also, the phone is now even slower than before when she's using BBM and it looks like it will become a paperweight because it has become too unusable so she is going back to her 9700.
