tahabashir1991, please you issue here in this forum and this thread, rather than simply linking else where to read and respond.

Most of the users here who may assist you are more likely to respond and answer here rather than elsewhere.

Thanks!

Re: z10 stl 100 1 Common Issue

@JSanders...I have been observing my Z10 STL100-1 since 2 months. It shuts down (switches off dead) exactly at 28% charge left in battery. No warning, no light blinking nor does battery icon change colour.

I have done secure wipe and other stuff read on Google but nothing works.

I am sure this is OS or Battery bug. According to you and experts here which one is it? Will BlackBerry replace my battery for good one if it is battery and will we get patch if it is OS? My phone is just 2 months old.

Re: z10 stl 100 1 Common Issue

Lithium batteries can do this shut off at 25, 50 or what ever setting due to a bad cell. i have seen it in laptops, Tools, Phones etc. Only takes one bad cell to tell device to shut down. This is done to protect you when battery gets older as lithium batteries are more dangerous when depleted.

I would get a replacement battery or try to borrow one to rule this out.

Re: z10 stl 100 1 Common Issue

In addition to what Knotty has stated (which very well could be your case),

Here is what I would like you to do... read closely and follow exactly.

While the device is powered ON and is connected to the wall outlet charger (not a computer) let it charge an hour or so and then WITH the charger still connected, remove the battery and replace to reboot.

Don't let it drain to 0%, but at about 10-15% start recharging and follow the SAME as above again, removing the battery while the device is charging.

[ Edited ]

don't agree with knotty.
i already get a new battery and the problem still there after couple of times. this is absolutely os bug (stl100-1 only) , i see that this problem came much from stl100-1 users, so i suggest technical teams that develop os for stl100-1 should look into this cricital bug and solved it as fast as possible.
