Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Hi

Its not been over 5 days since I purchased my Z30. The device was purchased in Dubai and Im using it in Sri Lanka.

Although I have a few issues, Firstly, for how powerful this battery is no matter how or how long i charge the phone, the battery lasts only for 5hrs and I need to recharge it again. I do have a data plan which I use to connect my BBM, Emails, Facebook, and Twitter ect I also switched from 4G to 3G but still the same. Battery drains so fast even when I dont do anything. I then purchased a battery optimizer tool from app world but i still have no improvement in this. Im not sure what else to try or do as this is not how this battery should work if im not mistaken.

Secondly, the device is sort of hot all the time. Even though the device is in standby and Im ot doing anything its slightly hot.

Im not sure what else to do, any help or suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

Aaqib

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Look in your Settings > App Manager.

Tap Device Monitor.

Tap the Battery tab.

At the upper right, tap "Since Last Charge" to change to "Last 48 Hours".

What apps or processes are consuming the most battery power?

ALSO, in setting up your new Z30, are you syncing many contacts or calendar data from a connected email account?

Social accounts such as Facebook or Twitter?

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Towards the top of the screen...

Top of screen shows [Device Monitor]    [Last 48 Hours]

Next line shows: [Battery]   [CPU]   [Memory]   [Storage]

OK, you don't have the latest version of this, so choose to sort by Battery.

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Hi Thanks but i can only sort by CPU or Memory, theres no option such as "Battery" in the drop down list :-(

Im running OS 10.2.0.429

But the aps I currently have running are System, Facebook, BBM, Hub, Phone - These are the only 5 that are running and apart for System all of the others are in the Idle State.

The System process/serice has a usage of 350-360Mb fluctuating with a Usage of 1-19% once again fluctuating..i did check this before but as everything looked normal was a bit difficult to pin point the problem

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

That's an older OS for the Z30.

You might want to wipe the device and setup it up fresh all over again... or

Delete your email accounts, reboot the Z30, and add the accounts back again, one by one.

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Not sure how old but thats all the latest I get when I run the updater...I did a full device wipe as well as reinstalled the OS too but i guess its still the same, not sure why this is happening like this

I also have another question, apparently not all my phone contact details has been synched via blackberry protect on the Z30 how do i re-run the sync again?

Re: Z30 - Battery and Heating Issue

Your data in Protect... was saved to Protect with a previous BlackBerry?
