Trust me, your fingers are probably not any larger than mine.

Asked above, but make sure also you place the Z30 in the holster facing your body, not outwards.

Re: changing home screen smart buttons

I think, the design together with my fingers are the reason.
I own a Z10 too. The rim of the Z10 seems more handy to me, unfortunately the screensize does not fit my needs.
So i make my wife happy by vomitting it to here ( she hates smartphones) :-)

Re: changing home screen smart buttons

I do the same exact thing all the time! I've mentioned this same issue on other (CB) blogs and Twitter. Would love to see a future OS allow us to customize those Quick Launch icons.

To make these icons customizable shall not be a bug issue.

Re: changing home screen smart buttons

once in a while when not paying attention on how I pull out, I do activate the camera. no big deal as a simple swipe and tap exits the app

Re: changing home screen smart buttons

Well my point was also this was a feature so brilliantly a part of the PlayBook OS, now Android has it, so it's become almost the norm for mobile OS. It just seems to make sense to me. Perhaps I just wanted BlackBerry World and Browser on the quick launch bar... it would be awesome to be able to make my Z30 my "own" with that ability.

Keep moving!

OK, I just tried over and over to get my leather holster to activate any one of the bottom row of icons, nothing happens. The leather touching them does nothing.

It has to be finger touching somehow.  You know the search can be activated by your pressing and hold on the side edge MUTE key. But that doesn't explain the camera.
