Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Hello, I have some questions about getting the BFB label:

1. Is it necessary that my app have a settings menu in the application menu? my app doesn't have any configurable thing.

2. Is it mandatory that my app uses landscape mode?

3. I have read that I must provide a link to the privacy policy information in the vendor portal of BBW. does it refer to setting up a hyperlink to this site: http://us.blackberry.com/legal/privacy-policy.html ? or where should I direct the user to?

Re: Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Hi Dany,

1. If you don't have any configurable thing you don't need a settings menu.

2. No it isn't.

3. You must link it to your own privacy policy on your own domain.

I hope these are the answers to your questions!

Re: Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Hello Stanley, thanks for your reply. I also have e another question. There is some requirement to check for the latest version of the app... Where could I read some documentation about how could I do that?

Re: Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Hi Dani,

I'm not sure about how that should work. You can find all documentation here: https://developer.blackberry.com/native/documentation/

I hope you can find it :-)!

hello

3. by privacy policy they mean that you need to include your privacy policy URL in your vendor portal.

You can create privacy policy using some websites.

Re: Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Hello,

It's optional to include your privacy policy into the app. (it's not needed for the app to pass BfB).

What is needed, is to include your privacy policy URL in your vendor portal. if this field is empty, the app is failed. check out the screenshot below.

Re: Built for blackberry guidelines questions

Even I had a privacy policy in vendor portal, my app was rejected by BFB team due to lack of that link in app itself.

I am confused.

Any help will be appreciated.
