just did my first tests with the updates.

some good news:

• from my feeling Apps are running faster

• ApplicationMenu with Sheets now are working as expected: you can swipe down more then one time

• SystemDialog, SystemProgressDialog, SystemPrompt, SystemToast are working very stable now: no half-shaded controls, buttons are working, controls are visible, progress is updated ...  Now I really know what happens with Server Connections from SystemProgressDialog

one major problem still exists:

If you have dynamic-changes in GroupDataModel and Insert / update / clear data,

ListView sometimes doesn't display the bound data for ListItems.

Hopefully this bug will be addressed in another OS update before launch,

but the Bug is confirmed and I know the devs are working on it

has the sdk been updated? I only see the gold SDK (1673) and the simulator is the same as before on the developer webpages.

Scratch that, I just discovered the ability to update the SDK through the momentics IDE

Help -> Update SDK -> 

Is that the normal/recommeded way to do this?

Help-> Update Native SDK !

yes - that's the recommended way

after the update you have to restart the IDE.

I ran into one problem: couldn't connect my DevAlpha via USB or WIFI -

solution: restart a 2nd time the IDE

BTW: if DevALpha connected via USB you will be asked to install BlackBerry Link. you can just ignore this and cancel - it's not available yet

argh, it raise new bugs for arabic text

some arabic unicode font like

 and other quranic/honorific mark doesn't work (only appear as a crossed-box),

can't install driver/blackberry link in mac, it says: "update Download failed : The update download failed with the following error: A server with the specified hostname could not be found".

and port-a-thon approach in a few hour

this is expected

you can ignore this (see also at CrackBerry)

BlackBerry Link isn't available yet - its built into the OS, but not available

I expect that this will be there at launch

Some of my findings:

• Indeed much speedier
• Momentics can boot my apps every time now (I had to restart the device sometimes in the past).
• I needed to set my Dev Alpha to 'Connect to Mac' instead of 'Autodetect' to be discoverable
• I had to reinstall the SDK completely, it wouldn't build at all, but now it's working perfectly.

Pretty unhappy from updates:

yesterday downloaded latest version of Momentics and it disabled QML preview (because it required 32-bit java is not available on my MacBookPro).

Now I updated Dev Alpha and trying to connect it to my computer. Again does not work and it was working before update.

What is this cowboy coding style? I'm in time pressure and spending unproductive time with fixing something that was working previously?
