Simulator not working

Hi, I am a complete newbie to devloping in generl, i downloaded the BB10 simulator, and I loaded it to VMWare player. It will not load, it always ends up like the picture below.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Re: Simulator not working

Not sure if this is still the case but the BB10 simulator used to not work on VMWare Player ver 5.0 (which is what it looks like you are running in your screenshot).  So you should try downloading the previous version, ver 4.0.8 (I think is what it was) and see if that works.

Re: Simulator not working

That did work, thank you. But now it just stops at a blue screen with a design on it, nothing else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Simulator not working

What version of the simulator are you running?  I haven't seen this error before myself but if I were to guess the file system could be corrupted.

Did you make any changes to the vmx file?  i.e. increasing the disk size or RAM used?

You might want to try re-installing the simulator from scratch too.

Re: Simulator not working

I reinstalled everything, and now it just shows a black screen, after the start-up video with the BlackBerry logo, and the colours swimming across the screen.

I don't know if it has something to do that i am using it with version 4.x, but I don't know if the new simulator needs 5, so if anyonbw knows it does then I would download the new VMware.

I have not touched any setttings, just played the virtual machine, and it goes th eblack screen,Nay help woud be greatly appreciated, thanks!
