My PC was upgraded (if you can call it that) to Windows 8 Pro yesterday. I can still build and edit my Cascades apps, but the QML perspective seems to be broken by the upgrad (it was working in Win 7).
I tried both the 64 bit and 32 bit version of Win 8 with the same effect.
Oddly, it does seem fixable...
After you get the message saying the the QML perspective isn't available (and a ref to a 32 bit DLL), open a QML file by right clicking on the file, and using "open with..." to open with QML. It will work but the components sidebar will be missing. Now close the file and double-click; hey presto, everything works as normal.
Could someone at RIM please have a look, and see if you can fix that first startup on Win 8?

Microsoft needs to release Skype for Playbook already. I don't understand what the hold up is.
Do people really want their phone making decisions for them? Whatever happened to the human element? Stop this madness!
