I'm having some difficulty with the BB website. When I use IE8 to visit the site, it loads the site for three seconds, then changes the address automatically to www.blackberry.mobi meaning i cant download updates from my desktop. If i use Google Chrome as my alternate browser, it tells me that i must use IE 5.5 or higher, and the update links do not appear.
Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi Jamamini
Welcome to the Blackberry Support Forums.
I have tested both http://supportforums.blackberry.com, and http://www.blackberry.com/ on IE8 and have not been able to recreate the issue you have described and Google Chrome is currently not supported. I suggest replying back with details of which windows OS you are using and we'll pass the info on.

Hi MohA, thank you for your reply
I'm currently running IE8 under Vista Ultimate 64. I've tried deleting my history and trying the website again, and whilst it initially loads up as the original Blackberry site, it refreshes and changes to the mobile version itself.
The Support Forums section of the website works fine with no issues.
I hope this helps

When you attempted to reproduce the issue were you on a 32 or 64bit os?
I have the same issue with IE8 on 64bit XP, Vista and Win7. After selecting the country, it opens the mobile site. Even typing in a full address kicks you back to the mobile site. Forums seem to be ok on ie8 and havent seen the same behaviour with IE8 on any 32bit os.

hi Chuck
I can use an alternate machine with a 32bit os absolutely fine, i even did a fresh re-install of my x64 machine and still the same problem, but its only in IE8. it doesnt happen the same in google chrome, but then some of the update links dont appear in Chrome.
but what you describe is exactly the problem i am having, after country selection the mobile version appears.
no idea what's causing it tho ![]()

I'm having the exact same problem. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and IE 8. I also have Chrome and it works fine, but some of the update links don't appear.
Did you ever solve this?

Well, I found a solution that worked for my desktop. I thought it was weird that this was happening because my laptop with Win7 x64 and IE8 works fine yet my desktop with Win7 32bit did not. After changing just about every setting the only thing I got to work was to go to "Tools," "Internet Options," click the "Advanced" tab and then click "Reset..." I let it reset everything and the Blackberry site came up perfect. Hope this works for someone else!
