Internet Explorer

Greetings,

Is anyone else having trouble posting messages using Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 SP1 64-bit?

Re: Internet Explorer

I just upgraded to Internet Explorer 11, but I still can't post in the forums.

Hi Shane,

Can you please explain the issue that you are seeing with IE10 + IE11

Also:

Can you post a screen shot of the error

What Browser add-ons have you got installed? Tools >> Manage add-ons

Re: Internet Explorer

I'm not getting error messages, but I have the following issues:

  1. Can't insert links. When I select text and click the Insert/Edit link button, the Link Text field is blank. And when I click the Insert button in the dialog box, the link gets inserted at the beginning of the document.
  2. HTML window doesn't work. When I click it I can see the HTML, but I can't select or change text.
  3. Preview window doesn't work. When I click Preview, all of the text I have entered disappears. NOTE: this problem is only intermittent. I don't know why the problem is not consistent.

The following extensions are enabled:

  • Shockwave Flash Object
  • Adobe PDF Reader
  • LastPass Toolbar
  • LastPass Vault
  • LastPass
  • Add to Evernote 5
  • Java Plug-In SSV Helper
  • Java Plug-In SSV 2 Helper

I've tried deleting my cookies, but the problem persists.

Thanks,

Shane.

Re: Internet Explorer

Hi Shane,

I have been able to replicate this, Could you please follow the below and see if you are still experiencing the issue

    1. Open the desktop, and then tap or click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.

    2. Tap or click the Tools button Tools, then tap or click Compatibility View settings.
    3. Under Add this website, enter the URL of the site you want to add to the list, then tap or click Add.

 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

When it asks for the URL please enter supportforums.blackberry.com and also rim.i.lithium.com

This should eliminate any if the issues that you are seeing using IE10 + IE11

Let me know if this helps for a work around :smileyhappy:

Re: Internet Explorer

Adding the site to Compatibility View fixes the insert link problem, but not the problem with the HTML and Preview windows.

When I add supportforums.blackberry.com to Compatibility View, it strips away "supportforums" and just adds "blackberry.com". But this is an IE issue.

What happened to the Accept as Solution button?

Thanks,

Shane.

Re: Internet Explorer

I noticed that I have the exact same problems in Norton's forum. They use Lithium for their forum software. Could this be a problem with the forum software, and not BlackBerry?

Re: Internet Explorer

Just a quick positive update :smileyhappy:

We have now got the latest TinyMCE plugin on the BlackBerry Community :smileyhappy:

I have given it a whirl on Internet Explorer and it works perfectly

If you can give it a try and let me know how you get on with it. If you do have any issues while using it please reply here.

P.s If you have got compatibility mode enabled for blackberry.com please disable it or remove blackberry.com from the list
