Blackberry Curve 8900 won't mount on desktop

Hi,

 

I'm having trouble mounting my 8900 on my Mac's desktop as a "mass storage device". When I plug the 8900 into my Mac via the USB cable, Blackberry Desktop Manager automatically launches, which is great.  But I can't get it to appear on the desktop.

 

I followed the instructions in another post (ensuring that the "mass storage mode support" option was turned on, and that "auto enable mass storage mode when connected" was set to "Yes"), but still no luck.

 

I also tried another use's suggestion of turning "mass storage" OFF, then plugging in the Blackberry and turning in ON again while the device was connected to the Mac, but that didn't work either.

 

Any thoughts? Solutions? Here's my setup:

 

Blackberry 8900  v4.6.1.250 (Platform 4.2.0.113)

Blackberry Desktop Managers 1.0.1

Apple Macbook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

OS 10.6.1
