I'm getting the following error in BlackBerry Manager for Mac when I click on Applications:
Blackberry Desktop Manager software could not connect to the update server.
There may be a problem with your network connection or the server is not responding. Please try again later.
This error has been happening for a while. I just updated to v1.0.3 (build 19) and the problem is not fixed. How do I resolve this error?

I am experiencing the same issue. Glad to see I am not the only one. I look forward to hearing what the fix is.

Same here, with my Storm 2.
The latest BDM (just downloaded) won't fix it.

I tried almost everything, including a complete wipe with no luck. Blackberry on Mac really sucks.

This worked for me. After syncing, I ejected the mass storage unit icon on my desktop leaving the blackberry phone connected. After that I was able to use the application updater just fine.

I do not have my Blackberry as a mass storage device. This maybe the reason for the update server issue. But honestly it should not make a difference.

Thanks for the tip; it worked perfectly for me. I've been trying and trying for weeks to figure this out!!

Tried with mass storage and without and neither one allows for application update server access.

Well, my solution only works about 10% of the time. To recap, I noted that that when Desktop Manager is connected, I have two drive icons on my desktop display, one named Blackberry 1 ( the phone) and one named Unknown (my memory card). I had some success getting application data to load and update by syncing then ejecting the Unknown (memory card) icon from my Desktop and then tapping the applications icon inside the sesktop Manager window. However, I now can get it to happen only on occasion. Oh well. We soldier on!

Solved!
I did a downgrade to the previous software version(5.0.0.497), now it works flawlessly!
I had also a lot of problems synchronizing my emails, now they're gone.
Hope it helps.
