I had the same problem. I don't know if this is a fix, but I did a hard reset (battery pull.) Then I disconnected the usb cable from my mac and bb. Then I opened disk utility and repaired permissions. Reconnected everything and tryed again. It worked for me, but I have a different phone and a PPC mac. You could also try the missing sync for bb "trail" and see if that works, or if you or a friend has a PC, you could try to sync it that way.
