Does anyone know how to remove the Blackberry Wi-Fi sync from the top menu bar, without having the actual phone available? (I lost my phone). There does not seem to be a way to remove the Wi-Fi music sync, without uninstalling the entire program. Any suggestions?

Hey lisnomis,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
You can disable WiFi Music Sync by going into Device Options and click on the Media Tab and remove the checkmark for WiFi music sync.

I gave in and uninstalled the program entirely. It does not delete the records, so that is what I was worried about initially. There popped up a screen that said it would not delete records, if anyone else is in this same situation. Honestly, not impressed with Blackberry software nor hardware. Glad to have moved on. Little things like this really demonstrate a lack of thought in the UI, and speaks to the commitment of the company to its products.

Hi guys. I have discovered a way of removing the Wi-Fi Sync icon. (following these directions should only be done if you no longer use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager) Go into your Home Folder's Library [Macintosh HD> Users> (user name)> Library> Aplication Support> BlackBerry Desktop...) then put the whole folder into Trash. when you go to empty the trash you may come accros a eror mesage alerting you that a cirtain file is in use; this is the Wi-Fi Sync process running constantly in the background. to terminate this proccess to allow you to emtry Trash completely launch the Activity Monitor ( Aplications> Utilities> Activity Monitor). Locate the blackberry process in the window using the filter if necessary and quit that process (using the red Quit process icon at the top left of the window). Now you should be able to emty Trash without any problems thus removing that silly little icon in the menu bar. hope this helps, i'm happy to go into any more detail, or simplify.
