We have spent days trying to install the software that came with the new BlackBerry Curve 8310 and it would not properly install to allow synchronization with Outlook. During the installation we received error messages that 4 files could not be registered (GW.dll, GWAPI.dll, desktopsetup_pb.dll, syncae_pb.dll). When we tried to configure synchronization it would tell us that the computer has to be connected to the Internet. After 12 or 14 installs, clean uninstalls, reinstalls, installing patches from Microsoft, manual attempts to register the missing files shown above, and numerous phone calls to tech support, we were finally told to install the older software version 4.2. It installed without any problems and synchronized on the first try. THERE MUST BE A SERIOUS INCOMPATIBILITY PROBLEM WITH THE NEWER SOFTWARE AND MICROSOFT WINDOWS SP-3.
