Blackberry Bold 9900 unable to configure Intelisync to sync with phone

Hi Guys,

I am having an issue of unable to select the check boxes on intellisync.

 

  •  When you attempt to select an option the setup window appears, selct the the required fields, finish but when you return to the setup field the check box is empty and if you try to check it again it takes you through the setup of the option again.

You have to hate it when you get all nice new work equipment and then you can't syncronise it all together.

I am running a

Toshiba Satellite Ultrabook

Win 7

MS Outlook 2010 (Kerio Outlook Connect)

BB Bold 9900

SW ver 7.0 2395 (v7.0.0.579,Platform 5.0.0.735)

We certainly don't need broken balls!

Is this a corporate device that is on a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server?)

Hi John,

 No this is not on BES. I am the last remaining BB user in a world of IPhone 4s!! Trust me am I copping it!

The one last holdout....don't worry, they will slowly return. Especially when they see BlackBerry 10 this fall!

What version of Desktop Manager are you using? Make sure you're using the latest version. Also, are you an administrator on this pc?

  The version of the software is 6.1 38 (what is currently available for download on the website). I am the administrator for this laptop.

Is it a 64bit version of Windows 7? If so, you need to install a hotfix from Microsoft. Here's a link:

Hi John,

Thanks for the link, unfortunately it pertains to XP 64 bit. I went through MS Win 7 software compatibility center and it states that the BB desktop manager software is compatible http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-au/Details.aspx?type=Software&p=Blackber...

Quick question is there a site that holds a copy of 6.0.1 as on my old (now dead) laptop it worked there?

You're correct, I didn't read that closely enough.  That's for XP 64 bit.  Sorry.

 

I only have a couple more options that I can think of.  First, I would do a clean uninstall of the DM.  Here is a link with instructions for that:

Then reinstall using the instructions at the bottom of the article.  The only other option after that is to try the beta version of DM 7.  They addressed quite a few issues with organizer sync in the beta version.  You can sign up at www.blackberry.com/beta and download from there.  It's pretty stable in my experience so far.  Keep in mind, though, if you make a backup of your device using DM7 that backup will not restore using DM 6.x.x   They changed the backup format.  Not a big deal as long as you know ahead of time.  I speak from experience!

When installing programs on Vista and W7 the "right click and run as administrator" instructions are important.
