1 .Uninstall Blackberry Desktop Manager
2. Download CCLEANER from http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
3. Clean your Registry and Temporary files
4. Open run and type %temp% and delete all files shown in the folder.
5. Restart Your PC.
6 Instlal BB Desktop manager again and connect again
It will work

Dear Vigcurve - thanks for the message. Unfortunately this did not work, although I followed all the steps you prescribed. I am still getting the same error message. Wondering: I also have Nokia Suite and Samsung PC Studio installed; could these phone-sync software packages be causing a conflict. Thanks.

I am getting the same problem. After uninstall older desktop software version, now I downloaded the latest 610_b038 version. After the installation was completed, I can't start the DT program. The '"Blackberry Desktop Software (Not Responding)" message is appearing on the top with white window. It stays there forever.
How can I solve it please?

I'm facing with the same problem after upgrading my software to 7. when i tried to downgrade it it give's me te same error again and again with every BB device i connect!

I am having the exact same problem with my Curve 9330 and a PC with windows 7 64 bit. I've tried everything (e.g. uninstall/reinstall) and the problem remains. There is however a temporary (but annoying) fix. If you restart your computer the the BB Desktop will load as it should. But you have to close it to disconnect the phone. Once you close it, it will not reload again and it is necessary to reboot the computer.

Guys,
Uninstall desktop software as also the updater. use a registry cleaner to clean any leftovers! Install 6.1 again and it works like a charm!
It worked for me!

i could not think of something else! have you done all the necessary reboots??
1. Uninstall
2. Clean leftovers with reg cleaner
3. Reboot
4. Check if reg cleaner find anything else
5. Install.
Notice that when you uninstall and it asks to delete all options and preferences to press yes!!
It worked for me! Using Windows 7 32 bit!
