When I first got a BlackBerry I attempted, unsuccessfully, to install BlackBerry Desktop (Version 5). However my Windows Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs has always shown it as fully installed. When I try to un-install it in Add/Remove Programs I get the following error message:
"Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue."
Recently I have tried to install the latest version (7) and during installation in gives the following message:
"Error 1714: The older version of BB desktop software 7.1 cannot be removed."
Assuming it to be a Windows Registry problem I have run a repair program that identified several errors in the Add/Remove section but it hasn't solved this issue."
At the moment I cannot connect my new BB to the PC and it's very frustrating.
