I tried to synchronise my BB 9300 to my windows PC and configured the organiser. After the sync all was complete the BB desktop software 7.0 just froze saying "Preparing sync preview". why does this happen? are there an remedies, I would like to restore the older version of the BB desktop software version 6.0 Bundle 2342 can I get this from somewhere.
Im deeply depressed with the new build that RIM has introduced, it is pathetic, I would like to have my old BB desktop software version 6.0 Bundle 2342back. Someone please help me in getting that back

You can get the Blackberry version of DM v.6.x here:
You may need to do a clean install:

I checked the links, it looks like software is specifically meant for AT&T network. will it work for phones on other networks too? Kindly clarify.

When I go to my carrier's site and attempt to download DM v.7.x, it redirects me automatically for that download to the RIM (BB) web site ...
You may well find that the s/w is generic, not carrier specific.
HOWEVER, ONLY BB can give a definitive answer on that ...
Meanwhile, your phone is not working.
WHERE the heck are all the BB support gurus & schmoozers??

This v7 simply doesn't work, freezes during the first sinc. I reinstalled v6.1. Congrats, RIM, for releasing an essential software that DOESN'T WORK!
