The screen font on the Desktop software is just boxes. It only happens with the Blackberry Desktop Software. All the other software I run on my machine is fine. See screen shot. Any one have any ideas? Thanks

Hey mjruel,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
It seems you installed BlackBerry Desktop Manager in a non-english form.
I would suggest to uninstall BlackBerry Desktop Software and re-install the software from www.blackberry.com/desktop and choose us english.

Hello,
I am having the same issue -
I have uninstalled V6.0, reinstalled V6.0 - same issue
made sure I selected English (US), then location as UK,
then retried with English (US) and location US - same issue
uninstalled V6.0
downloaded V6.1
installed V6.1, tried the same selections as above - still the same issue

Have already tried this. The software worked fine when installed from the disc provided with my Blackberry device. It has gradually changed to the small boxes from legible text and now it is entirely small boxes. Not sure if this occurred because of software updates, but I absolutely must find a way to get this fixed. Makes my Blackberry essentially useless to not be able to successfully sync with my computer.

When I upgraded to the another version of the software the problem went away. I have no idea why of how it happened. So my suggestion, is only to up-grade your Blackberry Desktop Software.

The easiest way is the clear your fontcache
http://www.ehow.com/how_7197467_rebuild-font-cache
Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
Press and hold the "Windows" key (located between the left "Ctrl" and "Alt" keys), then tap the "E" key to open Windows Explorer.
Double-click on your local hard drive, where the operating system is installed in the left pane, then double-click to expand the "Windows" directory. Double-click on the "System32" folder.
Right-click on "Fntcache.dat" in the right pane of the Windows Explorer window and choose "Delete." Click the "Yes" button to confirm the deletion.
Close the Windows Explorer window and restart your computer.
