Confused about Status column in Applications section

I'm setting up a Sprint replacement BB Curve 9330 and using BB Desktop Software v 7 for the first time. I have deleted several foreign languages that were downloaded when I updated the phone's software v 6. I've also installed additional subject area (financial/medical/etc) terms for the English language. In the status column, the BB Desktop software indicates the action I took, i.e.. "installed".

However, what is confusing is at the top of the list, the BB 6.0 System software and Core application status is listed as "Required". I've searched all over the Desktop software user guide, the help section, and also searched this forum, but cannot find what I'm supposed to do when something is "required".

My device has Software version 6.0 bundle 3049, so it appears that I already have what the Desktop software is telling me is required. Something isn't logical about this?? BB should at least explain this "required" status in the Users Guide.

Please use plain text.

Re: Confused about Status column in Applications section

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Actually, there's nothing at all you can do with "required" items...they are just that, required for system functionality. You have no option to remove them, and hence no tic-box available. They simply are listed as they are part of the OS installation, but there is nothing you can choose to do with them.

Hope that helps!

Re: Confused about Status column in Applications section

OK thanx. If I was a programmer, I wouldn't use a vague term like that in a status column of actions. But, no worries. I'll just accept it and move foward. Thanx again.
