Connector Specific Error

Just upgraded to Curve 9360. Now when I synch I get an error when it tries to synch the calendar: Connector Specific Error. No other information. This is the synch log:

There is nothing in the event viewer to suggest what the problem is. I have tried uninstalling all Blackberry software and downloading and installing the latest software as Administrator. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try?

Re: Connector Specific Error

Solved it. Go to desktop, Device, Delete data. Delete everything to do with Calendar. Check that your synch will copy from Outlook to the device. Synch it. All sorted.

Hope this saves someone else the couple of hours it took me to find it!

Re: Connector Specific Error

Are you saying to delete all of the data on the Blackberry and then re-sync it with the Outlook data.

I hope you are not saying to delete all of the Outlook data on my desktop. My IT person has suggested that we make a new Outlook account and transfer the data and copy it back into the new account.

Re: Connector Specific Error

No, don't delete all the data, just everything to do with Calendar. Then make sure your device wins when it synchs. I can only speak from experience, it worked for me!

Re: Connector Specific Error

Thanks so much. It worked.

I deleted all the data in my Blackberry calendar. (There are two kinds of data groups - one is Calendar and the other is Calendar-All. I don't know what the difference is.) I kept the data in my Outlook  because it seemed that the corrupt data was in the Blackberry. I then did a one way sync from Outlook to the Blackberry. It worked almost perfectly. For some reason on the second sync - two way the second time - there were changes coming back over to Outlook, which didn't make sense. I accepted them because they seemed to be harmless.

I then used the same method to fix my husband's Address Book. It worked, except he still gets an error message that one Outlook record is skipped. I think there is a corrupt record in Outlook and don't know how to find it. I won't dump the Outlook address book data as I did the Blackberry data because Outlook carries more information than Blackberry and I don't want to lose it.

Does anyone know how to find corrupt records in the Outlook Address Book?

Re: Connector Specific Error

Same thing here...I even tracked down the offending calendar event!

I use both Outlook and Thunderbird for email (2 different companies).  I received  a VCalendar invitation from sent from Outlook 11.0 and received onto my Blackberry.  This invite was eventually received in Thunderbird as a big test file.  I'm not sure if the invite was corrupt or Blackberry's have trouble with these emails.

Anyway, deleting the Calendar (not ALL...mine were different sizes) via the Desktop software and re-syncing seems to have cleared up the error.

Re: Connector Specific Error

Hi,

I had the same problem, which was fixed by deleting the data from the BB Torch.

Unfortunately, the day after, the problem was here again !

Of course, I could delete the data each time I synch, but it would mean that any new information on my BB would ever be transferred to my computer.

Does anyone have a solution to avoid deleting data at each synch ?

Thanks a lot.
