Contacts Synchronize option is grayed out - cannot synchronize. Why?
The rest of options (calendar, tasks and memos) can be synchronized.

Welcome to the Support Community!
Sounds like you may have wireless contact synchronization enabled on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9300 smartphone. You can check this (and disable it) in Address Book > Menu > Options. Please select your contact list and verify if the wireless synchronization checkbox is enabled.

Welcome to the Support Community!
What version of BlackBerry® Desktop Software do you currently have installed? In the BlackBerry® Desktop Software under Organizer, does it say "Settings on your device are preventing the synchronization of some items"?
What organizer on your computer are you synchronizing your contacts with and what version is it? Are your contacts saved locally on your computer or in webmail?
