After a clean install of Desktop Manager 6.0, both the Auto Updater and Desktop Manager crash every time I try to start them. There are no log files even generated (yes, I have shown hidden files in my settings). The only thing I could find was a file called "DesktopCrash.dmp," but I cannot view the contents legibly in Notepad or Wordpad.
I am running Windows XP SP 3. I am not syncing with Outlook. There were no issues creating the My Videos folder (and it is empty). Desktop Manager 5.0.1 works fine for me.
From the Application Event Logs, it looks like my issue might have to do with a .NET Runtime 2.0 Error:

I have three versions of Microsoft .NET Framework installed on my computer:
2.0 SP 2
3.0 SP 2
3.5 SP 1
Why Auto Updater and Desktop Manager trying to use Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 SP2 instead of 3.5 SP 1? How can I correct this to get the applications to work?
Thank you.

Hello,
I still need to find out how to get the Desktop Manager 6.0 software to use .NET 3.5 instead of 2.0?
Thanks.

Can someone please tell me how to make the desktop manager software use .NET 3.5 instead of 2.0?

Posting the log from:
%appdata%/Rim.Desktop.Exception.log will show what the problem is.

Thank you very much for the response, parlabane. Unfortunately, I don't even get far enough along in the app the where the log files get generated (yes, I have shown hidden files in my settings).
From the Application Event Logs, it looks like my issue is that the software is running .NET 2.0 instead of .NET 3.5. I need to know how to get the software to run .NET 3.5 instead.
Thanks.

Did you try an uninstall / reinstall of .Net 3.5sp1?
.Net installs can become corrupt.

I did do a repair of .NET 3.5 successfully. But I will try the uninstall / reinstall you suggest. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much, parlabane, for taking the time to try to help me. I really appreciate it.
I uninstalled .NET 3.5 SP 1 and reinstalled it last night. Unfortunately, I still have the same problem. The Blackberry desktop software is still using .NET 2.0 instead of 3.5.
