Desktop Manager for Mac failure--only opens in textedit

I just got the BB Tour from Verizon Wireless and have attempted several times to download the Desktop Manager v5.0 English with Media Manager for Mac. The program fully downloads as a dos-executable file, and when I try to open the file, it only opens as with the program TextEdit on my Mac. I tried to download v4.6, and it asks me to choose an application to launch the program with. Obviously, I have no clue what to do about that. I don't know if I'm being dumb about my Mac or my Blackberry, but I can't imagine this being that hard! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just kidding, figured out the problem. I guess it helps to say outloud/read through what my problem. MS DOS? On a Mac? Ugh. Anyhow, does anyone know when the new software for Mac comes out?

Do you remember the solution? I know this is from '09 and you might have forgot, but I'm having the same problem now.
