Desktop Software doesn't work/ Can't Sync BB thru USB cable

I bought a new micro SD for my BB and as soon as I plugged in the BB with the SD inside my desktop software went haywire.

Doesn't want to link up with the BB device, won't back up the data on my phone - nothing!

So I followed some bad advice and uninstalled all the BB software from my PC.
And now when I try to re-dl the software it says I'm missing a key file on my hard drive to install the product package.

What should I do?

What is the full error message you receive when attempting to complete the installation and at which stage does it fail?

A box pops up that says "4e0a4f6.msi" file not found on the harddrive of your computer. BB Desktop software could not finish install. Then it starts rolling back like it never existed.

It does suggest that I either connect my device thru USB cable (done) or restart my pc.
