Desktop manager failing to synchronise

Hi

 

When I try to synchronise my phone with Outlook (I'm on 2007) I keep getting the error message: "The operation terminated unexpectedly". This happened a month or so ago too, so I uninstalled the software, then reinstalled it which fixed the problem. However, this time I've tried doing this twice and it is still not working.

 

Any advice?

Please specify the following:

PC, OS version (if Vista 32 or 64 bit)

Version of Desktop manager

Model phone and device OS

I have the same issue.  Here are my details.

PC: Dell Latitude D620

OS version: Windows XP SP2 (32-bit)

Outlook version: 2003 (11.8216.8172) SP3

Version of Desktop manager: 4.6 (also tried 4.5 and 4.2)

Model phone and device OS: 8330 Curve v4.3.0.127 (Platform 3.1.0.73)

Please open a different thread for your problem.

Your fix may not be the same as the originators,

Go to the grey bar at the top of the page and use new message.

Thanks for your reply. PC is Dell Inspiron 1525. OS Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Phone is Blackberry 8120 smartphone. Not sure how to find OS? Desktop Manager is version 4.3.0.15.

Try this procedure. After you are done, reset all the options in the configuration wizard, save and try

to sync.

Hi,

 

I am thinking the installation is corrupt. Here is the correct procedure for installation.

I have found 4.5 to be extremely stable with XP, I use it and it's rock steady.

 

I would do the following:

 

Use this link to uninstall the current DM

Download DM 4.5  without Media manager. MM is very unstable:

Download these USB drivers for 4.5

 

BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers ENG (DM4.5 B13)

Cold boot the PC. Turn of all virus checkers and firewalls.

Install the DM and configure for Outlook 2003.

 

On the BB:

 

Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute, Let the device reboot 1-3 min,

 

Start the DM and plug the BB into the USB.cable

Sync.

 

Let us know how it goes.
