Exporting/Syncing Memos

I used to be able to export my memos into an Ascii file.  Now with new 7.1 version of Desktop software, I can't even sync them!  I don't have any of the software listed in the supported organizer software list.  It's not fair that you have to have to buy Lotus notes or Outlook to be able to save your memos!!  Am I missing something and there is a way to do this without having special software on my PC?

Please use plain text.

Re: Exporting/Syncing Memos

Hello,

For PIM support, this KB governs:

  • KB12268Synchronization support for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

Not having any "insider" insight, we can only surmise that RIM has made business decisions about which PIMs to support...it would be a bit economically impractical, I'd think, for they to attempt to support all PIM apps out there. But, regardless of the "why", that KB governs compatibility.

If you need an older version for compatibility, you can obtain that here:

ASCII/CSV exporting has indeed been removed from the 7.x version...consequently, you need to fall back to the 6.x version in order to have that function.

Good luck!

That's not complete information. The user wants their memo data in an ASCII format. Backing up their device does not create an ASCII file. The post made by Sdgardne will be the best solution.
