Media Sync crashes when importing art work from iTune

I downloaded Media Sync from blackberry.com and tried to import musics from iTune.  I understand that the newest Media Sync should allow this.  However, when I start the import process, I get an error message at the start when it's importing album art: "Media Sync has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for any inconveniences" and crashes.  Below is the error log:

logs are recorded in your Application Data folder under Research In Motion\BlackBerry Media Sync.   Pasting the last 30 lines of the latest log in your post may help us determine the problem

I have the same problem, but only on my pc that is running XP. Media Sync works great on my laptop running Vista. Unfortunately the vast majority of my music is on the XP pc. Here are the last 30 lines of my log.

Re: Media Sync crashes when importing art work from iTune

I'm having the same problem here are my details:

* Windows XP

* Bberry desktop version 4.7.0.32 (Nov 4 2008)

* Bberry bold v 4.6.0.125

I updated yesterday to Media Sync version 2.0.0.20.  I've done restarts,repair installs etc. already.

I can also send you a log if you tell me where I should get it (I cannot copy/paste from the microsoft window).

Thanks

Re: Media Sync crashes when importing art work from iTune

[ Edited ]

I'm having either the same, or a similar, problem.  From what I can gather, this only started happening after updating to the latest version of Media Sync, which was released on 3/25/09, if I'm not mistaken.  I even tried reinstalling Media Sync directly from RIM's website, to no avail.

My last 30 or so lines from two logs:

Re: Media Sync crashes when importing art work from iTune

Hi SpadesSammael –

It looks like your album art cache file is corrupt.  With MediaSync closed, please go to the %appdata%/ Research In Motion\BlackBerry Media Sync folder and delete the folder called ‘AlbumArt’.

You should be able to re-launch MediaSync at this point.  You will have to re-import your album art in the ‘Options’ screen.

Let us know if this fixes the problem!

I'm not sure where to find the crash log.  I went into c:/Program Files/Research In Motion/Blackberry Media Sync/ but I don't see any folder that says application data.  Please let me know, as I would like to share my last 30 lines.

Re: Media Sync crashes when importing art work from iTune

Hi Music4lifebeats:

One of the tracks in your iTunes library seems to reporting an invalid Track Length.  This is usually the result of a corrupt track.  We can help identify what track is causing the problem...check you private messages.

You may be able to temporarily fix this problem by closing MediaSync and deleting the file %appdata%/ Research In Motion\BlackBerry Media Sync/ MediaSyncLibrary.tle.

However, if the corrupt file is still in your library, the problem will show up again.
