We are having an issue with one of our machines where they are unable to start their blackberry desktop software 7. they get an error saying that rim/desktop.exe has encountered an error and needs to close.They have XP SP3, 32 bit, with AVG anti-virus. We have tried reinstalling all of the .NET framework present on the computer / repairing it if it doesn't allow us to uninstall (linked to drivers). We have do a manual uninstall where We have gone and deleted the registry values and folders left by RIM: no difference. We have removed the anti-virus; no difference. Created a new user: no difference. Downloaded and isntalled BBDS v 6.1: no difference. Run in safe mode: no difference.
short of an OS reinstall, what can We do?
